Another Track Meet

Boy, am I getting tired of these long days, but the girl is doing awesome. She had another bad day in long jump, scratched all 3 jumps, BUT she won High Jump by a huge margin, jumped 5'1" - her personal best!!!! I am very proud of her.

On another note, why are teenage boys so silly...she has a "friend" who is a boy, and he was showing off, and busted open his nose...LOL He's going to be ok, but think he needs stitched...YIKES.

Track Update

Well, she didn't make the finals in long jump or hurdles. Long jump, she hasn't had enough practice on, and her timing was way off. Hurles was too close to high jump. She did very well in long jump, this was her first major meet - over 20 schools, and she tied for 4th. I'm very impressed, so is her coach. She is just a freshman, so got a long way to go, but showing very good promise. The scorers screwed up, they missed her on the placings, and we had to fight for her placing, but they admitted their mistake and will be sending her the medal.

I'm very proud.

Track Meet Today

We are on our way to an all day track meet. Lizzy is doing high jump, long jump and 300 meter hurdles. Wish her luck. Will be a LONG day and we are running late, we are supposed to be there, and we are at least 30 min out and I am bored. But I do love having the laptop and wireless modem. I can play on the computer while hubby drives. Will update with results when I can.

She should do well, she's got some real natural ability in her jumping.

Well, more later.

RAK Received

Not sure if this would be considered random, since I knew she was making it for me. But dear, sweet Wanda N. made me a pattern of my beloved Bongo out of my favorite picture. I'm going to start it soon, but not sure how it will go emotionally wise, but we will see.

Thank you so very much, I am truly blessed with amazing friends both in person and over the internet.

Here is the picture of her that I love so much.

RAK received

I just received the most amazing RAK, or at least to me. Dottie K sent me a KK pattern that is just adorable.

Here is a picture:

And Tina S sent me the fabric to do it. Now to get the floss, because I MUST start this right away.

And on other notes, I got home at almost 10:30 pm from bringing David home from the hospital. He's doing so much better and glad to be home. Thanks everyone for the prayers and good wishes.

Cross stitch update

I finished the first page of Naptime Dragon late last week. I am very pleased with the look of this project, even though it's not something I would normally do. I started a HAED freebie last night, You Make My Heart Melt. I also have 2 2/3 pages to finish KK's The Defiant. I am also planning on starting another KK SAL Black Wolf, and I am going to be starting a Fractal Freebie. I have several WIP's that I need to see if I can recover, HAED's Rose Fenech, TW's Peacock Tapestry(doesn't look promising), and I trashed my start on HAED's Black Stallion, it was out during the fire, and I didn't have much of a start, 1 page done on a 40some page pattern isn't much...LOL

Anyway, that's my stitching update for the week. House hopefully will be finished in the next 1-2 weeks, so we can get back to somewhat of normal. I am also beginning my search for another bird, I want a baby blue and gold macaw, so we will see how that goes.

Pictures of the horses.

here are a couple of pix of the new babies

This is the first one, Maritza.

This is the second one, Surprise - named because she was a total suprise, was not expecting a palomino out of this cross nor did we expect her to be born on that particular night...LOL

And last but not least is Mystery - named because she is NOT by the stallion that she is supposed to be out of...OOPPSS!!! LOL

Hope you like, they have brought a great deal of joy into our life.

Just wanted to update, David is doing much better. He had his endoscopy today, and they found 6-8 ulcers, and they are fixed now. No more bleeding, and he looks and feels so much better!!

Thanks for thinking about him, he really is a sweetheart of a guy!!

1st Blog

Well, figured it was about time I started a blog. This will be a blog about the Harris family, the horses, and my cross stitch, and whatever is on my mind at the time.

Right now, I'm worried about two dear friends of mine. David and Terry Waid held my family together when my fire happended. Terry took control and helped keep me sane. David pitched in any way he could. Tuesday night / Wednesday morning David had a heart attack. He had two stents placed yesterday, now he has some bleeding in his stomach and they cannot figure out what is causing it. He should have an endoscopy sometime today. Please keep these dear people in your prayers. They are lost without each other. I spent all day yesterday at the hospital with Terry and I will be back up there sometime today.

Thanks, and I will be posting cross stitch pix later. As soon as I get the pix off of my hard drive from the desktop, I will be adding pages for the horses.
